Scope and CanadaLend relationship

This policy applies to information collected through leahmortgages.ca.

When a visitor proceeds into CanadaLend’s brokerage or application process, or when information is handled within CanadaLend systems, CanadaLend’s privacy practices also apply. You can review CanadaLend’s privacy policy at canadalend.com/privacy-policy. This website policy does not override CanadaLend’s policy for information CanadaLend handles directly.

Information we collect

  • Contact information: first and last name, email address, phone number and optional city.
  • Inquiry information: the mortgage service you select and any optional details you choose to share through the thank-you step, such as property value, mortgage balance, desired amount, purchase price and down-payment information, buyer or property status, co-owner information where asked, and free-text notes.
  • Consent records: which consent boxes you selected, the date and time of submission, and related submission information.
  • Technical and referral information: IP or similar network information, browser and device type, timestamps, page path, referring page, UTM parameters and gclid when present, plus basic security and anti-spam logs.
  • Email correspondence: messages you exchange with Leah may be retained together with her responses.

The mortgage calculators on this site are client-side tools. Calculator inputs and results are not intentionally submitted or stored by the website unless you independently include that information in a form or message.

This site does not request document uploads. Please do not send your SIN, banking passwords, full payment-card information or identity documents through general website forms.

How we use your information

  • Respond to your specific inquiry and communicate according to your selections.
  • Understand the mortgage service you requested and discuss potentially relevant options.
  • Route and manage the inquiry with Leah and CanadaLend.
  • Deliver, secure, maintain and troubleshoot the website; prevent spam, misuse and fraud.
  • Understand website use and improve pages and the inquiry process, as described in Cookies, analytics and your choices.
  • Maintain consent, inquiry and compliance records.
  • Meet legal, regulatory and professional obligations.
  • Send promotional email or SMS only where you have given separate, optional consent.

Sharing and disclosure

Your information may be shared only as appropriate with the following:

  • CanadaLend for brokerage operations and responding to the inquiry.
  • Eligible lenders or mortgage-related parties when you move forward and disclosure is relevant and authorized.
  • Service providers supporting hosting, secure form delivery, email, CRM, analytics, security, maintenance and similar operations, subject to contractual or other appropriate safeguards.
  • Regulators, law enforcement, courts or advisers when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights or security.
  • A successor in a legitimate business reorganization, subject to applicable privacy requirements.

Leah does not sell or rent personal information. CanadaLend’s own handling of information in its systems is governed by its linked policy.

Processing outside Canada

Some technology or service providers may process or store information outside Ontario or Canada. When that happens, information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is processed. Leah uses appropriate service-provider and security controls where reasonably available.

Cookies, analytics and your choices

The site uses essential functionality and security measures to deliver the website, protect forms and troubleshoot problems. Your cookie preferences are saved in your browser so the site can remember your choices.

We use Google Analytics, managed through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the website and improve its pages and inquiry process. Measurement may include pages visited, referring pages, browser and device information, and interactions such as calculator use or a successful inquiry submission.

Analytics and advertising cookie permissions start as denied unless you have previously saved a choice. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies, choose analytics and advertising preferences separately, and change your choices using Cookie settings in the website footer. These choices are separate from permission to contact you about an inquiry or send marketing messages.

Google tags can load before you make a choice. When consent is not granted, they may still send limited consent and measurement signals to Google without analytics or advertising cookies. Rejecting non-essential cookies therefore does not mean that no information is sent to Google.

With analytics consent, our custom interaction events record the action and general categories, such as the type of calculator or mortgage service selected. These event records do not include your name, email address, phone number, form responses, calculator inputs or calculator results.

Advertising measurement or personalization features, if enabled, are subject to your advertising preference. Selecting advertising consent does not sign you up for promotional emails or text messages.

Google processes information under its own privacy policies and may process information outside Canada. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services.

Retention

Information is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the inquiry, service delivery, consent evidence, security, and legal or regulatory recordkeeping. When it is no longer required, it is securely deleted, destroyed or de-identified where reasonably practicable.

Records that are moved into CanadaLend systems are retained according to CanadaLend’s applicable requirements and policy.

Safeguards and breaches

Leah applies reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Access is limited to people and providers who need it for the stated purposes.

No electronic transmission or storage method is completely secure. Suspected security incidents are assessed and handled in accordance with applicable requirements.

Access, correction, withdrawal and complaints

You may ask what information is held, request access or correction, withdraw consent where applicable, or raise a complaint by emailing leah.kadikoff@canadalend.com. Leah may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, and legal exceptions may apply.

For CanadaLend-controlled records, you may also contact CanadaLend at info@canadalend.com, North Tower, 675 Cochrane Dr, Suite 110, Markham, ON L3R 0B8.

If you are not satisfied with the response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Policy changes

Material updates to this policy will be posted on this page with a revised Last updated date. Where required, new consent will be obtained for materially new purposes.
